This appears to me to be largely a spot light. I can't see any IR different (it further IR or better number plate recognition), the light comes on when you ticket "colour night vision" when it senses an event. It's not night vision, it's a spotlight that comes on and lights up the area. I find that's good because it puts people off being around rather than a passive IR camera just seeing the issue but my wife isn't a fan of the light at 2 am that comes on because there is an event in my poorly defined event zone.
