Network Interface for EPEVER Solar Charge Controllers.

Description

This product allows REMOTE monitoring of compatible EPEVER Solar Charge Controllers with nothing more than a standard Web browser.

Many EPEVER Solar Charge Controllers have a data port that allows a LOCALLY connected device (e.g. a laptop) to monitor real-time values such as Voltages, Currents, etc. Adding this device facilitates REMOTE monitoring.

Provides secure web page access to controller data:

  • voltages (panel, battery, and load)
  • currents (panel, battery, and load)
  • temperature (controller, and battery; if available)
  • power (panel, battery, and load)
  • charts
    • voltages (60 mins, and 24 hr)
    • battery charge percent (24 hr)
  • data download (CSV format)
    • voltages (60 mins, and 24 hr)
    • battery charge percent (24 hr)

Supports these RS485/MODBUS EPEVER Solar Charge Controllers:

A cable is required to connect the EPEVER Solar Charge Controller to this device.

Solar ControllerConnecting Cable
LS-BShort LAN cable
VS-BNShort LAN cable
Tracer-ANShort LAN cable
Tracer-BPSOL-RS485-4LLT

Adds:

  • a Web page interface
  • 3 Network interfaces. Only one required to be used, but all 3 can be operational at same time. This device can't bridge or route; IP traffic is not passed between interfaces.
    • Ethernet (LAN)
      • Connect with standard LAN cable to local network
      • IP configuration:
        • Auto (DHCP, default)
        • Manual (Static)
    • WiFi Client
      • Connects to a nearby WiFi Access Point (AP)
      • IP configuration:
        • Auto (DHCP, default)
        • Manual (Static)
    • WiFI AP
      • A nearby device (e.g. Phone or Laptop) can connect and view web pages.
  • an MQTT client.
    • MQTT is an open standard data reporting client.
    • This powerful feature allows smart device platforms (e.g. OpenHAB, HomeAssistant, ...) to capture and display data from this device for extended time periods (up to years).
    • See example OpenHAB chart of all voltages & currents from a real-world installation.
  • email alarms:
    • Min/Max limits can be set on battery voltage and battery capacity.
    • An alarm email is sent to a nominated email address when the voltage or battery capacity transition to outside, or to inside the limits.

Features

  • No special software required
This product works with just a normal web browser, as found on any smart-phone, or computer.
  • No Internet connection required
This product works with no Internet connection. This means that all the monitoring and reporting functions can be kept 'inside' the local network (LAN).
  • Remote access available
By default, this product is protected by your Internet router and can not be accessed from outside your local network (LAN). If your network firewall is modified to permit external access to this device, then the web interface is available from anywhere in the world.
  • Password protected web access
All web access is password protected. The password can be changed (up to 32 characters).
  • Secure
By default this product makes no external connections.
  • Flexible mounting options
Table, Wall, and DIN-rail mounting supported. Removable DIN rail mount included.
  • Industrial temperature range
    -40 to +85 °C
  • Small form factor
    75 x 80 x 25 mm
  • Low power self-consumption
Less than 1 W; minimises battery drain at night.
