I bought the EdgeRouterX as a replacement for the WiFi router that comes standard with Starlink satellite internet systems. The Starlink router has virtually no network configuration settings available and I needed more flexibility. I didn't need wifi on the router as I have Ubiquiti mesh access points for this job.

I have only basic networking knowledge, but I found the user interface relatively easy to navigate. I have set up the EdgeRouter to provide static IP address mapping for some of my devices and set up a dual WAN with Starlink as my main internet and a 4G modem as the automatic fallback service if Starlink goes down. I also needed to set up a static route to the Starlink dish. There are lots of configuration options and plenty of web and Youtube tutorials out there to help set it all up.

So far the EdgeRouterX seems just as fast and reliable as my other Ubiquiti gear and comes at a reasonable price.
