The PoE function built into the UDM Pro SE is well worth removing the clutter of adding in a small PoE switch. With 2.5 GB/s ethernet ports for the internal network, its ready for the faster WiFi access points as they arrive with WiFi 6E, as well as faster uplinks. In Australia, you only need this unit to plug into FTTP NBN; if you are FTTN (VDSL) then you'll also need a VDSL bridge in order to present Ethernet to the WAN port of the UDM Pro SE.
For small installations of a couple of WiFi Access points and a couple of Unifi Protect Cameras, this is the hear and brains of it, and you can plug those APs and Cameras to this unit to power them, simplifying your installation footprint (no additional switch).
