Smart Ultrasonic Range gauge with WiFi and Ethernet (PoE) network interfaces.
Description
This is a Smart Internet-of-Things (IoT) device that uses ultrasonic pulses to measure distance.
It can be used:
- Standalone: The built-in webserver has a WebGUI that can be accessed by any web-browser and shows real-time distance measurements, and/or

Stories Of The Month
3 sites, linked as one network via peer-to-peer VPNs
"I have three homes - one in the UK and two in another country , I have an EdgeRouter and AP's in each site, but one of the EdgeRouters is NAT behind a router I don't own.
I have set up peer-to-peer IPSEC VPNs using VTI interfaces between each pair of sites, so that I can treat the whole as one network (with different subnets in each site), accessing all devices from all places (I have not worked out how to do the hub-spoke model yet, or even if that makes sense - I suspect not: too many hops)
Additionally, since this uses VTI interfaces, I have set up a separate SSID in each non-UK site, which routes all traffic via the UK site, allowing me to use UK-geofenced services like Amazon Prime and iPlayer."

Church/School UniFi Protect Install
"2 locations, 2 UNVRs, 77 cameras, 3 monitoring stations, 1 wireless link, 100's of feet of cable
First off, don't get angry at me for hoarding equipment that is out of stock, this project was installed 14 months ago 😉. We are also in desperate need of some more Protect equipment.
We transitioned from two systems of 4 Chinese cameras, to a complete UniFi Protect surveillance system for our church which also houses a school on one location.
97% of the inside common space is covered, all major egress points are covered externally, and currently, while only retaining events, we have over 1 year of archive. Fortunately, we are in a somewhat rural location, but in the last 14 months, this system has caught and prevented an arson attempt, provided evidence for an accident, answered several "what happened" questions, and cleared the student ministry from being blamed for things several times (if you are in student ministry at all, you know what a big deal that is!)."

Online Training
New course: UniFi V6 - Course 1
In a world's first, Online training (developed in Australia) is now available for the Ubiquiti products shown.
You benefit in a number of ways:
- Cheaper - than attending a formal 2-day course in a classroom environment.
- Faster - no need to wait until the next classroom course is scheduled nearby.
- More convenient - the self-paced courses can be scheduled around other demanding work.
- More practical - the Ubiquiti classroom courses are great for students needing to delve deep into theory such as Radio Waves, Antenna design, TDMA protocols, Link-Budgets, UniFi-WiFi site surveys, etc. But in many cases, students just want to know how to setup some very common scenarios. These Installer courses are targeted with less theory and more practice.
The way each course works is ... each student:
- signs up and receives by email a set of detailed course notes. These can be kept as a reference document for use later on-the-job.
- is allocated real test hardware for 7 days. This is hardware the student gets to configure (over the Internet).
- passes an online quiz for each module. When all module quizzes have been passed, the student gets emailed a Certificate of Completion.
