Getting Internet to the Shed

The shed is made of colourbond steel, the arch enemy of WiFi signals. I have tried WiFi extenders and countless WiFi routers but encountered the same lacklustre performance. That is until I looked into the Ubiquiti airMAX range. Using 2 x Nanostation Loco's created a link from the house to the shed, and haven't looked back.

The Process

First, mount the hardware and connect the cables. I mounted one on my house gutter, and one of the shed facia. I then ran the cables from my router to the house device, then another cable from my shed device to the 5 port router.

Setting up was a breeze using the Ubiquiti mobile app. I was getting the same speeds in the shed as i was getting in the house. The setup has been installed for 6 months now, and has not skipped a beat.
