UniFi Building-to-Building Bridge

The UniFi Building-to-Building Bridge, model UBB, is the ideal solution for high-throughput connectivity with a range of up to 500 m. Integration with the UniFi Controller makes bridging two networks seamless.

Comprised of two pre-paired endpoint devices, the UBB delivers a Point-to-Point (PtP) link – up to 1.7+ Gbps bi-directional – using 802.11ad technology on the low-interference 60 GHz radio band. For backup, a 5 GHz radio using 802.11ac technology is available.

Gigabit Speed

Up to 1.7+ Gbps bi-directional – using 802.11ad technology.

60 GHz Operating Frequency

The 60 GHz band attenuates quickly due to atmospheric absorption. When a 60 GHz radio – such as the UBB – uses a highly directional antenna, inteference from other directions is also attenuated. The 60 GHz band thus offers extremely high transmission capacity; like a wireless LAN cable.

Wireless Link Redundancy

60 GHz is highly directional and any obstacle in the line of sight – even rain – can drop signal levels.

To maintain connectivity, the UBB can fail over to the 5 GHz radio. The 5 GHz radio band propagates better and uses radio wave reflections and refractions more effectively, although it offers lower maximum throughput.

Pre-Paired Configuration

Setup is quick and easy: the UBB radios are pre-paired out of the box so you can use the UniFi app for simultaneous adoption. The UniFi Controller software enables intuitive management of individual UniFi devices and site-wide deployments.

Convenient Alignment

The UBB pivots on its ball joint 3-axis mount for easy aiming.

Mounting Versatility

No fasteners are required for pole-mounting, and a single wall fastener (not included) is required for wall-mounting. A wall mount kit, model NBE-WMK is available as an optional accessory to enhance stability.

UniFi Pro 24-Port 400W PoE Switch

UniFi Switch Pro 24 PoE is a fully managed Layer 3 switch with (8) 802.3bt (PoE++) and (16) 802.3at (PoE+) Gigabit Ethernet ports. (2) 10G SFP+ uplinks offer link aggregation for higher capacity and increased availability.

The UniFi Switch Pro 24 PoE features a rich set of Layer 2 capabilities and integrates Layer 3 functionality such as inter-VLAN routing, static routing, and DHCP server.

The UniFi Switch Pro 24 PoE is the ideal access layer switch for any UniFi solution. It combines up to 400W of near-silent PoE power with UniFi SmartPower RPS power redundancy. UniFi Network Controller and UniFi Network mobile app allow admins to configure and monitor virtually all of the switch features in an intuitive graphical user interface from anywhere.

Features:

  • (8) Gigabit RJ45 802.3bt PoE++ ports
  • (16) Gigabit RJ45 802.3at PoE+ ports
  • (2) 10G SFP+ ports
  • Layer 2 and Layer 3* features
  • 400W maximum PoE power
  • UniFi SmartPower RPS DC input

PtP LocoM900 - 4 km, 30 Mbps, 900 MHz

With this product you can quickly install a non-Line of Sight (NLOS) Point-to-Point (PtP) network bridge link. It comes pre-configured so all you have to do is point-plug-and-play.

Applications

  • Non-Line of Sight (NLOS)
  • File sharing between buildings
  • Internet/email connection extension to a remote building
  • Video surveillance using IP cameras.
  • Others ...

Non Line of Sight (NLOS)

900 MHz is much better at passing through obstacles than 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. This 900 MHz product will pass through some obstacles, but each obstacle is likely to reduce the data throughput. It cannot work miracles; it is unlikely to make a link through a hill, and metal is a 100% reflector at this frequency so it will not pass through metal.

900 MHz works best when one or both antennas are well above the ground.

Specifications

Clear Line of Sight Range  Up to 2 km  Up to 4 km
TCP/IP speed one-way  30 Mbps  4 Mbps
Band  900 MHz
  • Note: Speeds assume absolute clear Line of Sight, and no interference.

Stories Of The Month
Freezing cold wifi project

"Temperature of the whole warehouse is kept on 10C (50F) and the 8 (eight) cold storage chambers have a variable temperature ranging from -20C (-4F) to -30C (-22F). That being said, while being a fully indoor environment, using the outdoor rated UniFi models was a must, and for that the UAP-AC-Mesh and UAP-AC-Mesh-Pro were selected, being the Mesh-Pro (8 units) installed inside the cold chambers and the Mesh (11 units) installed all over the warehouse."

10 Gbps Internet Setup

"A new 70-seater office space wanted to set-up fast, reliable internet. They wanted to establish a reliable 10G internet that provides 1 Gbps on LAN and a minimum of 40 Mbps on wirelessly connected devices, even when the office is at full capacity."

UniFi Training1

UniFi Training2

In a world's first, Online training (developed in Australia) is now available for the Ubiquiti products shown.

You benefit  in a number of ways:

  • Cheaper - than attending a formal 2-day course in a classroom environment.
  • Faster - no need to wait until the next classroom course is scheduled nearby.
  • More convenient - the self-paced courses can be scheduled around other demanding work.
  • More practical - the Ubiquiti classroom courses are great for students needing to delve deep into theory such as Radio Waves, Antenna design, TDMA protocols, Link-Budgets, UniFi-WiFi site surveys, etc. But in many cases, students just want to know how to setup some very common scenarios. These Installer courses are targeted with less theory and more practice.

The way each course works is ... each student:

  • signs up and receives by email a set of detailed course notes. These can be kept as a reference document for use later on-the-job.
  • is allocated real test hardware for 7 days. This is hardware the student gets to configure (over the Internet).
  • passes an online quiz for each module. When all module quizzes have been passed, the student gets emailed a Certificate of Completion.
