Is it dodgy to accept Bitcoins?

No.

More and more organisations are accepting Bitcoin. As we write this, some of the reputable organisations accepting Bitcoin payments are:

  • Microsoft
  • Expedia
  • Wikipedia
  • Subway
  • Webjet
  • More...

Why are you accepting Bitcoins?

Our customer base is inherently internet and technology savvy. This is the same group of people that tend to have invested in Bitcoins. Adding an additional payment method simply expands the range of options for our customers.

This is especially important now that the Australian Tax Office (ATO) has said: any capital gain or loss from disposal of the bitcoin will be disregarded (as a personal use asset) provided the cost of the bitcoin is $10,000 or less

Are you accepting Bitcoins to Avoid Tax?

Absolutely not.

The ATO regards Bitcoin transations as legitimate for trade of goods and services.

Here is what the ATO has to say: Click link

What exchange rate do you use?

We quote and invoice in AUD (Australian Dollars). The Bitcoin (BTC) processor company we use converts the AUD to BTC.

Why did I spend More Bitcoins than you Charged?

Transferring Bitcoins through the network is not free. There is a small fee (usually called a Miner Fee) that your Wallet service charges you (the sender) for the transfer. We do not receive that part of your payment.

I have sent the Bitcoins but you do not show the order as Paid yet?

We wait until your payment has been confirmed on the Bitcoin network. The time taken to confirm a payment depends on a number of things including:
  • Congestion on the Bitcoin network.
  • The amount of the Miner Fee your wallet service included with the payment. Payments with low Miner Fees usually take longer.
The fastest time we have seen to confirm a payment (transfer) is 2 minutes. The slowest is 3 days.
