A Smart 1-Channel Relay & Switch Input
With Tasmota-Plus installed, this WiFi-connected smart product supports remote control & monitor (On/Off) of one relay, plus remote monitoring of one external switch contact input.
Description
Common Smart devices are designed to only work via the manufacturer’s server and with special apps; the user never communicates directly with the device.
While this works well for home users, power users might prefer to be able to directly control the device using a simple http:// (web) interface.
Tasmota gives direct access to the device via simple http:// web access. The benefit of this for power users is that the device can be controlled using:
- Web UI interface, or
- http:// Command Interface. Ideal for control by external scripts.
This product is pre-loaded with Tasmota-Plus which adds these features to standard Tasmota:
| Ping Watchdog: Cycle the relay if Pings to a specified IP address fail

| WAN Security: Prevent commands being executed unless coming from a nominated IP address.

| WiFi Signal Indicator: Visualisation of the WiFi signal strength as seen by the Tasmota device.

| Clock Page: Allowing setting of parameters (Time zone, Daylight saving, …) so that the Real Time Clock is accurate.

Powering from Passive 24V PoE
As this device can be powered by 24V DC, a 24V PoE supply can be used as follows.
Prepare a LAN cable with a normal RJ-45 connector on one end, and connect the other end to the device as below:
- Pins 4,5: (+) DC
- Pins 7,8: (-) DC
- Pins 1,2,3,5: No connection
Need a 24V PoE-powered AP?
A solar, or remote, installation may need a simple WiFi AP close by to connect this device to the LAN. In the Related Products section (below) there are a number of 24V, low-power APs that are ideal.
