Solar Kit | 15 Watts | 1 x PoE 24

This kit is designed to power 1 device with a total load of up to 15 Watts (W), with 24/7 (hrs/days) availability*.

The 15 Watts figure excludes the system load (solar charger & PoE injector(s)) which has already been included in the calculations.

Design Philosophy for This Kit

  • KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)
Minimise the parts needed, and include all cables/accessories in the kit.
The solar controller chosen needs no onsite programming; it is pre-configured by us.
The included DIN rail mount simplifies (and neatens) the on-site installation.
  • Low Self-Consumption
By focusing on electronics that are very efficient and draw very little power themselves, the overall system design preserves the battery reserves for the powered devices.
    • The Solar Charger in this kit has very low self consumption (0.2 Watts).
    • The POE-DC PoE injector(s) also has a very low self-consumption (0.2 Watts).
  • One Enclosure
To keep costs down, this kit is designed around a LiFePO4 (Lithium) battery that offers these advantages over Lead-Acid:
    • Smaller (and lighter) for the same energy capacity, and
    • Do not emit corrosive fumes - so can share an enclosure with electronics.
  • 24 and 48 V PoE supported
At least one 24 V PoE injector, and an Outdoor/Grounded Ethernet cable are included, as most installations will have at least one 24 V Ubiquiti radio device to provide network connectivity.
Some installations will need to power a second PoE device that may be 24 or 48 V. The kit is ready for additional PoE injectors as need.
Please see our other 15 W Solar Kits that include support for 1, 2, or 3 PoE devices.
  • Battery Included
A 600 Wh LiFePO4 battery is included with this kit. The specific brand chosen fits in the enclosure along with the electronics.
  • Solar Panel Cables Included
Cables with standard MC4 connectors are included in the kit, with a special two-conductor cable gland simplifying the cable exit path from the enclosure.
  • Support for additional external PoE cables
This kit includes a drill bit and plugs for a total of 3 outdoor Cat5e cables exiting from the enclosure.

Why buy through us?

Here at UBWH Australia, we have been working hard to improve our service offering to you, our customers. In doing so, we are excited to highlight a few of our advantages:

1. Authorised Ubiquiti RMA Centre for Australia. We have worked closely with Ubiquiti USA to set this up. When you lodge warranties with us and send the faulty item back, we send you a new one from our stock. No more lengthy turn around times. View the new RMA form here.

2. Same Day Dispatch. Our new warehouse will dispatch orders the same day in 98% of cases, for orders paid before 12.30pm AEST and shipped by Australia Post. Occasionally, large orders will cause a delay until the next business day.

If critical, please contact us prior to ordering. We will update you on the days proceedings and will endeavor to have your paid order dispatched same day.

3. Extended Warranties on everything we sell. Optional 2 and 3 year warranties are in addition to the normal Manufacturer's Warranty, plus the Consumer Guarantee required by Australian Consumer Law (ACL) for all Australian Consumers, at a small cost. These can be selected during the checkout process at http://ubwh.com.au

4. Pre and Post Sales Support. As a customer of ours, you have access to our high standard of pre and post sales support. Whether you need a design checked over, product recommendation or help setting up we can help. Contact us.

5. Credit Card Security
Five-tips-for-PCI-DSS-Compliance

There has been a lot of unfortunate reports lately of high profile hacks into large organisations. Did you know we do NOT store your credit card details on any of our servers - so those details can not be stolen from us.

For your protection and peace of mind, we use a card processing provider that has been certified to the highest level of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

Hint: Self-Hosting a UniFi Network Server

Self-hosting a UniFi Network Server should only be done by experienced network administrators. For the best and most streamlined experience, it is recommend running UniFi Network on a dedicated UniFi Console compatible with UniFi OS. This will eliminate compatibility risks associated with third-party software and hardware.* Other benefits of UniFi Consoles include:

  • Optimized hosting and management performance
  • Automatic scheduling of backups and updates
  • Seamless email and mobile push notifications for important system activity

*UniFi also offers the Cloud Key Enterprise (on-premise) and a native Cloud Console subscription for scaleable deployments managing hundreds of UniFi APs.

UniFi Training1

UniFi Training1

In a world's first, Online training (developed in Australia) is now available for the Ubiquiti products shown.

You benefit  in a number of ways:

  • Cheaper - than attending a formal 2-day course in a classroom environment.
  • Faster - no need to wait until the next classroom course is scheduled nearby.
  • More convenient - the self-paced courses can be scheduled around other demanding work.
  • More practical - the Ubiquiti classroom courses are great for students needing to delve deep into theory such as Radio Waves, Antenna design, TDMA protocols, Link-Budgets, UniFi-WiFi site surveys, etc. But in many cases, students just want to know how to setup some very common scenarios. These Installer courses are targeted with less theory and more practice.

The way each course works is ... each student:

  • signs up and receives by email a set of detailed course notes. These can be kept as a reference document for use later on-the-job.
  • is allocated real test hardware for 7 days. This is hardware the student gets to configure (over the Internet).
  • passes an online quiz for each module. When all module quizzes have been passed, the student gets emailed a Certificate of Completion.
