Product Highlight - EdgePoint

The EdgePoint offers an innovative combination of robust routing performance, fiber backhaul capability, and the convenience of passive PoE support.

The EP-R8 is an external rated, pole-mounted, managed DC router with 8 ports (incl. 2 Fibre ports) that support 24 V or 54 V products. We have decreased the price of these to compete with the popular Netonix DC switches.

Stories Of The Month
Honest Review: G4-Dome

"What I like:

  1. Relatively small.
  2. Nice wide FOV, way wide than on G3-Flex (as specified in docs, but with camera cover removed, otherwise deduct about 5 degree)
  3. 1Gb connection, but, honestly, is it necessary?
  4. Less attractive to spiders than G3-Flex
  5. Image quality and camera sensitivity is way more superb than G3-Flex (probably due to the size of sensor and algorithms - image is way more stable and less noise on G4-Dome)
  6. Good dual microphone with always active ANC
  7. HDR is finally producing a good picture
  8. Good denoise level by default.
  9. Good quality at night
  10. No major issues detected which is very pleasant, also fast to adapt.
  11. Decent speaker
  12. Metal body to disperse heat"

Online Training

New course: UniFi V6 - Course 1

UNMS

airMax M

UniFi Training1

UniFi Training2

In a world's first, Online training (developed in Australia) is now available for the Ubiquiti products shown.

You benefit  in a number of ways:

  • Cheaper - than attending a formal 2-day course in a classroom environment.
  • Faster - no need to wait until the next classroom course is scheduled nearby.
  • More convenient - the self-paced courses can be scheduled around other demanding work.
  • More practical - the Ubiquiti classroom courses are great for students needing to delve deep into theory such as Radio Waves, Antenna design, TDMA protocols, Link-Budgets, UniFi-WiFi site surveys, etc. But in many cases, students just want to know how to setup some very common scenarios. These Installer courses are targeted with less theory and more practice.

The way each course works is ... each student:

  • signs up and receives by email a set of detailed course notes. These can be kept as a reference document for use later on-the-job.
  • is allocated real test hardware for 7 days. This is hardware the student gets to configure (over the Internet).
  • passes an online quiz for each module. When all module quizzes have been passed, the student gets emailed a Certificate of Completion.
