Business Update

30 Day credit accounts re-activated

During the Covid-19 outbreak, we de-activated all 30 day credit accounts. With a little more certainty surrounding the economy, we have re-activated 30 day credit accounts for existing customers. Simply select the "ship then pay" payment option during the checkout process. To qualify you must have at least 1 previously dispatched order from us. The available credit is set to the value of past orders.

Hint: To stretch payment out to 60 days, pay the 30 day account using BPAY (using your credit card as a funding source)

Applications

A Word on Security

There are plenty of Smart devices available with WiFi connectivity. But the vast majority communicate with you via a server in a foreign country. That concerns many, and also requires that the Internet connection from the property be 'up' all the time. The background communication also steadily eats into the monthly Internet data allowance - which may be an issue in some cases.

None of the products above need to communicate with any server.

Stories Of The MonthDC High Power System Design

"I have had a lot of questions recently about designs for DC power systems larger than what Ubiquiti currently makes.  The EdgePower 54-150 can provide 150 or 300 watts of 54VDC power (depending on configuration) to drive things such as the EdgePoint S16 and R8, and the DC power inputs of the Infinity Router and the EdgeSwitch 8-150, and works well for those..."

Online Training

New course: UniFi V6 - Course 1

UniFi Training1

UniFi Training2

In a world's first, Online training (developed in Australia) is now available for the Ubiquiti products shown.

You benefit  in a number of ways:

  • Cheaper - than attending a formal 2-day course in a classroom environment.
  • Faster - no need to wait until the next classroom course is scheduled nearby.
  • More convenient - the self-paced courses can be scheduled around other demanding work.
  • More practical - the Ubiquiti classroom courses are great for students needing to delve deep into theory such as Radio Waves, Antenna design, TDMA protocols, Link-Budgets, UniFi-WiFi site surveys, etc. But in many cases, students just want to know how to setup some very common scenarios. These Installer courses are targeted with less theory and more practice.

The way each course works is ... each student:

  • signs up and receives by email a set of detailed course notes. These can be kept as a reference document for use later on-the-job.
  • is allocated real test hardware for 7 days. This is hardware the student gets to configure (over the Internet).
  • passes an online quiz for each module. When all module quizzes have been passed, the student gets emailed a Certificate of Completion.
